Secure data destruction
Data destruction, without the headache.
Protect client, patient and student data. Windows and Apple drives are wiped to NIST SP 800-88 at our Florence, Kentucky facility. Pickup is free, and a Certificate of Destruction is yours on request.
How does Regadget destroy data?
Regadget destroys data in one of two ways: wiping or physical destruction. Both happen in-house at our facility in Florence, Kentucky.
Multi-pass erasure for added security. Windows and Apple drives are wiped with software to NIST SP 800-88. Chromebooks are Powerwashed instead: the ChromeOS reset that securely erases all user data.
Physically destroyed instead, when that’s the right call. Some drives are crushed or shredded instead of wiped, such as a damaged drive, or when your agreement calls for physical destruction.
Reused or recycled. A wiped drive can go back into a refurbished computer, reducing e-waste. Destroyed drives, and anything else that can’t be saved, go to U.S.-based recyclers.
Your part: back up anything you want to keep, and clear management and activation locks before the devices leave. After the wipe, it’s gone.
Does Regadget give a certificate of data destruction?
Yes. A Certificate of Destruction is available on request, in compliance with NIST SP 800-88. One certificate covers each batch.
NIST SP 800-88 is the U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology’s guidance on media sanitization. NIST’s SP 800-88 publications
What you get in writing:
- At a freight pickup:
- Chain of custody maintained throughout the process. Complete transparency from pickup to destruction, and secure handling of all devices, no matter the type. It starts at your dock: a signed bill of lading and pallet count at pickup, covering the shipment from your dock to our Florence facility.
- After processing:
- A summary report of the devices processed and what happened to them.
- When you ask:
- The certificate, for your records or your auditor. Ask for it on the quote form.
Keep your device count or list with them. It’s your record of what went.

What your security reviewer will ask before approving us
Answered here, not three emails into the conversation.
Is our data safe if the computer is resold?
Yes. We wipe the drive before a computer is refurbished and resold. Then, for extra peace of mind, we reimage it with a fresh operating system, so it goes to its next user with a clean drive and none of your data.
Can you destroy drives at our site?
No. Drives are wiped or destroyed at our own facility in Florence, Kentucky, and a signed bill of lading covers the shipment from your dock to ours.
What does data destruction cost?
Nothing. It’s part of our standard ITAD services, pickup included. We recover value by giving devices a second life through refurbishment.
Can we send you our questions before we sign?
Yes. Send them through the form on this page or call 859-993-6911. We’ll tell you plainly what we can provide and what we can’t.
